an Idea which never materialised further

I had an opportunity to draw a small 4 page comic about the impending apocalypse for Kindle magazine a few months back. I couldn't finish it, as most of my comic projects, but I wanted to record it because I might finish it some time before the end of the world as we know it.
Having written a synopsis which made me think a little more, I was in two minds whether it was a ridiculous idea or not. Maybe it was an acceptable idea, but the comic wouldn't be able to represent what it started out to say.

Here's the synopsis for the incomplete story:

Our world as we know it, has seen Natural and artificial disasters periodically. The very shelter we build for safety often becomes the cause for tragedy and loss. Human kind has learned from their experiences and past mistakes and designed for all possible natural, and more recently-man made disasters. Sounds like we have it all figured out.
But what do we know of what awaits us? To be prepared for something we have experienced before is one thing, but what about the unknown? What is the nature of the disaster awaiting us? What do we prepare for? How do we know what structure will last?
The apocalypse is just the end of the world as we know it to be. The eventual post apocalyptic collective conscience will enlighten us to come to closer to the dream of the ideal habitat which in turn will lead us to the truth.
The apocalypse is the ultimate test for the master architects and planners who came before us. We shall thus know what lasts and what we, as a race want to preserve. Not just for historic records, but the for the value it adds to our new lives.
The comic explores a fictional fate of great buildings of the world - ancient and contemporary in the Post apocalyptic era of complete and pure utopia.

Sometimes, my observation gets the better of me...

I don't remember where or why I drew this, but my guess is, I saw this scene somewhere. Just noticed it in a meeting today and had to shut my notebook hastily before any one else saw what I sketched instead of architectural details!! Disaster averted ;)

making comics - Guerilla style!

It all actually started four and a half billion years ago, but lets not go that far back. For our convenience lets say it started two weeks ago. First came a cycle ride, the came breakfast and lastly my idea. And Nitin listened patiently and agreed. So we decided to start fun guerilla comic sessions which will typically last for 3 hours. We come together with some snacks and tea/drinks and a lot of fun. And of course... draw comics too! The whole idea is to make comic drawing enjoyable.
We came up with the name Comics Jamboree because guerilla comics was already taken :P check out that site too, its quite a lot of fun.
We had our first session on the third day of the month of May, the eleventh year of the twenty-first century at Nitin's house with three participants: Nitin, Shreyas and yours truly.
We shall be uploading stuff we draw on Comics Jamboree soon. follow us on facebook too!

PS: the sketch is a part of the one page comic I drew for the first comics jamboree. Stay tuned :D

Rrrraaight!... A nonsense drawing.

So this was inspired by pop culture. This not the last I'll be seeing of this. The theme will probably continue and some day, I shall have a whole story. Not necessarily with the cute alien and the cuter Vaidehi, but playing on the same idea. Stay tuned (for a few years maybe)
